Purace is a 4650-m-high active volcano located in the Central Cordillera of Colombia, as part of Los Coconucos volcanic chain at 02° 19.01’ N and 76° 23.88’ W.
Purace volcano has an active crater with the main fumarole La Lateral with temperature of 135°C. Around Los Coconucos volcanic chain there are fifteen thermal springs with: (1) acid sulfate waters, and (2) sulfate-chloride waters. |
